Vikings stand proud at NSW State LC Championships 2018

Report by Caz Makin, Club Captain

Women’s Relay Team

We only managed to field a small contingent of Vikings and second claim swimmers from Molonglo swimming at the NSW State Championships at SOPAC on 17/18 march 2018, however, those who participated did the club proud!

With five women and two men including Katrina Burgess, Donna Campbell, Kylie Lane, Kristen Leydon, Caz Makin, Ann Reid, John Collis and Gary Stutsel, we managed to field two womens and two mixed relay teams, and place 9th from 31 clubs attending the championships.

The event saw some super efforts both in individual and relay swims from our swimmers who brought medals, personal best times, and smiles back to Canberra with them.

During the meet, Caz was also presented with her personalised towel for winning the BPS top point scorer for the F45-49 age group for 2017 across MSNSW.

Full results from the championships are available.

We hope to see many more Vikings attending the next NSW State Championships which will be SC and held at the Woy Woy pool on the central coast on 13/14 October 2018.
