Twelve tackle the 2024 MSNSW Long Distance Long Course Championships
On 24 November 2024, twelve Tuggeranong swimmers made a quick day trip to Sydney for the NSW Long Distance Long Course Championships held at Granville Pool. Under hot sunny conditions, our swimmers had an enjoyable day and swam well.
Vikings pack a punch at Pan Pacs Masters Games 2024
The Pan Pacific Masters Games were held in November on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Held biennially, the Pan Pacific Masters Games encompassed over 12,000 athletes participating in 45 sports, including archery and equestrian to volleyball, water polo, and swimming.
The swimming competition, run by Masters Swimming Queensland, was held from 6-10 November 2024 at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre in Southport.
Mighty Vikings Go Big and Go Hard at 2024 MSNSW State SC Championships
Our mighty Vikings team certainly did “go big and go hard” during the weekend of 12-13 October 2024 at the Master Swimming NSW State Short Course Championships at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.
279 competitors signed up to swim at the event, representing 41 clubs (32 from NSW, 5 from QLD, 2 from VIC, 1 from WA, and 1 from the USA).
Tuggeranong Vikings Masters had a record 41 swimmers valiantly waiting to compete over the weekend.
Dazzling Darwin delivers delights at the 2024 MSA Nationals Championships
Ten Viking swimmers wanted to ditch their fleecy jumpers and escape the chilly Canberra winter, to go to a place where the temperature is always warm. The 2024 MSA National Championships were held 3-7 May 2024 at the lovely Parap Pool in Darwin, Northern Territory.
Solo Viking takes on Queenslanders at MSQ State SC Championships
The Masters Swimming Queensland State Short Course Championships were held over four days from 18-21 April 2024 at the Chandler Aquatic Centre in Brisbane. The Queenslanders run a fast and efficient meet with fastest-first seeding and seeing separate racing for women and men in the 25, 50, and 100m events. Solo Viking, Caz Makin completed 12 individual swims over the four days.
Sensational swimming at the 2024 MSNSW Long Course State Championships
The 2024 MSNSW State Long Course Championships were held on 13/14 April 2024 at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.
Tuggeranong Vikings were represented by 19 swimmers: 14 women and 5 men. Overall, our club achieved a total of 848 points, placing us fourth from the 41 participating clubs.
Valiant Vikings visit Victorian State LC Championships
A couple of valiant Vikings visited the MSV State Long Course Championships held on Sunday, 7 April 2024 at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre. There was the opportunity to race up to six individual events in this one-day meet, which proved to be great race practice for Liz Daly and Caz Makin.
Spectacular conditions for Broulee Bay to Breakers Ocean Swim | 10 March 2024
Once again on the Canberra Day long weekend, several ACT-based open water swimmers from our club or friends of our club headed to Broulee for some fun, surf, and sun.
Sunday, 10 March turned out to be a spectacular day with clear skies, warm water, and great conditions for the 2024 Bay to Breakers 1.4k Ocean Swim.
More fun race practice at the Blacktown BPS Meet
It was a small group of six female Vikings who competed at the Blacktown BPS Meet held on 24 February 2024. It was a great opportunity to practice race strategies amongst many friends in a low-key and friendly environment.
Tuggeranong Masters make a big splash in the 2024 Sri Chinmoy Lake Swims
Calm waters and clear skies welcomed our club members and many other open water swimmers from around the ACT and NSW to Yarralumla Beach at Lake Burley Griffin for the first Canberra open water swimming event for 2024. The annual Sri Chinmoy Lake Swims offer a racing distance of 5km, 2.5km, and 500m, and this year’s event took place on Sunday, 18 February 2024.
