Vikings travel West for National Championships 2018

Report by Caz Makin, Club Captain

The MSA National Championships 2018 were held in Perth at the superb HBF Stadium complex from 18-21 April 2018. Most of the events were held in the indoor 50m LC format 8-lane indoor pool except the Womens 400m Freestyle and Mens 800m Freestyle which were held in the 50m LC format 10-lane pool in the lovely WA sunshine.

Relay Medal!

The finale to the four days of competition saw our womens 4x50m Freestyle relay team determined to win a medal and racing with steely determination holding off Claremont Masters to snatch the Silver medal behind PowerPoints.  Our ladies were delighted with their reward for the effort and team spirit which always shows through in the relay events, which are so much fun!

Tuggeranong managed to achieve 24th from 104 clubs competing and all of our swimmers should be proud of their personal and team achievements.

We witnessed some spectacular swimming as always at Nationals and some nail-biting relay finishes.
