Tuggeranong Vikings BPS meet a success | 16 September 2023

Report by Kylie Lane, Club Captain

Tuggeranong Vikings held a very successful MSNSW BPS Meet on Saturday, 16 September 2023 at Lakeside Leisure Centre, with 103 competitors representing 20 clubs from NSW and the ACT.

The weather in Canberra was fine and warm making it very pleasant for swimmers, volunteers, and officials.

The meet went very smoothly, and after a break halfway through, the club raffle was drawn with many eager people waiting for their numbers to be called out to collect their awesome bundle of goodies.

There were some amazing individual swims on the day with a total of 9 club records being broken. One of these was Cameron Boland’s 200m Backstroke swim where he broke the State and National Short Course records in his 45-49 age group in a time of 2:15.07.

Our club would like to thank everyone who came along and helped make it an enjoyable day, either swimming, officiating, helping with timekeeping, catering, or at the raffle table. We look forward to hosting another successful meet in the near future.

Tuggeranong Vikings would like to thank their major sponsors, the Vikings Club, and all businesses that continue to support our raffles.
