Merrylands BPS Meet | 22 February 2020

Six Tuggeranong members headed up the highway to Sydney to attend the Merrylands BPS Meet held on 22 February 2020.  Attendees were Kylie L, Donna C, Leisa C, Donna S, and new members Liz D and Ian McG.  With event options only being 50m swims, it was a very short but sweet meet. The Vikings arrived in overcast conditions with occasional light leaks from the sky but nothing could dampen their spirits.

With all six swimmers completing their maximum three swims each, there was not much time for socialising, but everyone still managed to watch and cheer each other on, either from marshalling or the cool down lane. For the first time at this meet, Vikings had a female relay team, and being the only ones in the 160+ age group, of course coming away with max points.

Everyone enjoyed the day, happy with their swims and points gained; even if some were overly affectionate and had personal magnetic forces connecting them to the lane ropes in one particular event!   The day ended well with the sun shining, sausage sangers being consumed and merchandise being bought.
